♦ Marcel Ciolacu resigned from the forefront of the Executive, and the PSD announced the exit from the government, his ministers will remain interim until the formation of a new government ♦ The decision is taken one day since Crin Antonescu, the proposal of the PSD alliance, PNL, UDMR for the position of PNL, did not stay in the PNL. at Government ♦ What does the business environment want from the future president? Administrative reform, reindustrialization and competitive local production ♦ Moreover, farmers want agriculture to be treated as a strategic sector ♦ In addition, entrepreneurs put on the table the theme of competitiveness and education.

Industry, agriculture and entrepreneurship leaders convey a common message about the future president – it must assume an active role in modeling the Economic Directorate of the country. A symbolic position is no longer sufficient. There is a need for strategic vision, partnership with the private environment and a clear agenda of economic priorities. «The Romanians have two diametrically opposed options for the elections of May 18 – a proocidental direction versus an antiocidental direction, one of economic freedom, compared to one of economic insulation. On the other side, George Simion did not send any message yesterday. The business environment says that Romania now needs a president who understands the real economy and can play a role of coagulating national interests. From industry, agriculture or entrepreneurship, the message is the same: Romania needs domestic production, administrative reforms, strategic vision and authentic partnerships between the state and the private environment. The year 2025 is no longer a year of promises, but of decisions that will mark the economic future of the country. Radu Burnete, the executive director of the Concordia Employers Confederation, warns that the budget deficit and the pressure on public finances can no longer be ignored. «Even the chief of the treasury said that we can not borrow until we take some measures. It is a clear signal that including our own economy awaits decisions,» he points out. The solution is not an aggressive increase in taxes, but a reduction and efficiency of public spending. The merging of some administrative-territorial units, the restructuring of the state apparatus and the reduction of the waste are measures that the new president must actively support. «The future president has to measure twice and cut only once,» adds burnets. Dragoş Damian, CEO of the therapy and representative of Primer, draws an alarm on the accentuated deindustrialization. «We need a strategic plan of economic competitiveness through reindustrialization – factories, factories and combined as you see with your eyes,» he says. The industry should become a national development pillar, through support for entrepreneurs, attracting corporations and developing a technical workforce. «The commercial deficit, the economic stagnation, the public debt – all come from the fact that we do not produce anything in Romania,» warns Damian. He proposes that at the Ministry of Economy be appointed a professional who built or led a factory, not a politician without experience in production. For the club of Romanian farmers, agriculture can no longer be treated as a secondary domain. The sector is facing the volatility of prices simultaneously, the effects of the Ukraine war and climate change. «Agriculture must be recognized as a strategic pillar of national security,» says the club representatives. They demand the mediation by the president of an integrated agricultural policy, which will ensure the financing of the agri -food chain, a national water management system and a coherent risk management mechanism. In 2024, the pedological drought generated losses of over 2.8 billion euros. Alin Claudiu Apostu, an entrepreneur and former project manager at the Romanian Business Leaders, says that the future president must support the European Directorate of Romania and establish a clear competitive strategy. «We need to know what areas we want to rely on – production, artificial intelligence, innovation. And especially what people,» he says. Romania has valuable, but not valuable human resources. «We have many smart people who leave the country because they do not see a future here,» adds Apostu. In addition, the emphasis should be placed on tax predictability and support for local businesses. Last but not least, education should be treated as the basis of economic construction. «Including the result of these elections is the result of an unmoved Romania,» he concludes.
