It rains small, but continuously, for more than 30 minutes, when I arrived in the «peak» of Mount Royal hill in Montreal, in the most famous city of the city. I was already wet well. So were the other dozens of visitors who had faced the rain and the stairs (many) to get here. Where did you put it cold, and from the gray and closed sky it seemed to be dark, although it was midday, at the end of May. And yet, despite the dreadful weather, the tens of skyscrapers who were profiled on the horizon were extremely photogenic. Indeed, embraced by the low clouds, who were getting slightly and were slightly, they looked as if they were detached from a story. But of all these buildings-most new and glass-my eyes fell on a certain, slightly older, which had a whole wall covered with the face of Leonard Cohen, born in 1934 in the city of Montreal, to which a lifetime was deeply tied. But the metropolis also felt – and is still felt – related to the artist whose music has fascinated a world. Including me. It is interesting, however, that Cohen's life was influenced by two places. The Greek island of Hydra offered peace and love-which inspired him from an artistic point of view, while Canada offered him roots. Without knowing that I will «find» the artist on the streets of his hometown, I wrote in this issue of After premium business about the five Greek islands that have conquered me permanently and irrevocably. One of them is Hydra himself, a patch of land that has a special energy, energy that Cohen and other artists have felt. There are certain places that have the ability to link life relationships with certain people. And it should not be the most beautiful, nor most spectacular nor most developed. Sometimes it is native urban, sometimes a village forgotten by the world. There may be an island, a road or a country. It is true that there is, invariably, a connection between people and places. For example, the founders of the fashion brand OK Kino say that their story was influenced by Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova putting their mark on the business that today has become a European name. And, by the way of people and places, Ofelia Cozma, who is self-titled style educator, is invariably linked to Kuwait, a small state in the Middle East where she has spent much of her life. However, you do not always have to travel far to find such a connection. Andrada Nalian Bucur and Edie Etem, the two girls behind the Iki Kiz concept, turned to the past and their own cultural heritage. About such personal (but also professional) links you can also read in the interview of the undersigned with the painter Marius Bercea, one of the highest Romanian artists of the moment, but also in the tourism pages, where the Uşeriu brothers reveals the story via Transilvanica. They speak, among others, about how rural Romania is the true Romania, the true soul of the country. In the end, instead of conclusion, I just tell you that the edition of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs After premium business It is waiting for you with much more stories about people, about places and the connection between them. Pleasant reading!
