♦ There are very few who can receive such a bonus, most likely top executives in the bank or energy sector, areas in which the remuneration and wage packages are directly proportional to the stress and daily responsibilities.

Two employees from Romania had gross revenues of half a million euros in June, both from salary and bonuses, which allowed them to contribute about 20,000 euros (over 100,000 lei) in a single month to the private pension funds, the ZF calculations made on the basis of the data transmitted by the National Pension House (CNP). In the same month, 11 other Romanians received gross revenues between 100,000 and 500,000 euros, and another 13 between 16,800 and 100,000 euros. «A contribution to Pillar 2 of over 100,000 lei can mean a lot, including exceptions in the category of annual performance bonuses for international companies present in Romania, which grant these bonuses at the closure of the parent company, that is in June, and/or can represent compensatory salaries for the availability of a manager in such a company,» says Paula Rus. WorkForce Contribution to Pillar II is 4.75% of the monthly gross income, which allows to estimate the earnings based on transfers. A monthly contribution of 100,000 lei corresponds to a gross income of over 2.1 million lei, equivalent to about 425,000 euros. Thus, in the case of the two employees in the category «over 100,000 lei», the gross income registered in June exceeded 425,000 euros. The largest category of active participants, respectively 1.1 million people, ie about a quarter of the total, had gross earnings between 840 and 1,260 euros, according to ZF calculations. For comparison, the average gross salary in Romania is about 1,800 euros. «Such figures must be viewed not only as absolute values, but also as percentages. Practically, those contributing over 1,000 euros per month (estimation based on June data) represent 0.06% of the total number of taxpayers, with a total estimated contribution to about 1.35% of the monthly fund. about 61.5% of the fund) comes from the following categories of taxpayers: employees with a monthly gross income between 10,547–21,053 lei (19.83% of the number of taxpayers, about 34.54% of the total monthly fund); With gross monthly income between 6.337-8,421 lei (15.53% of the number of taxpayers and about 12.62% of the value of the fund) ”, adds Paula Rus.
