Voicu Oprean, CEO and founder, AROBS Group: Romania remains a competitive destination for many industries, thanks to the quality of specialists and advantageous costs – best cost country. That is why we prefer an active expansion strategy, based on the complementarity of the acquired companies, than a passive waiting period
♦ «Our vision is clear: we want to be a reference player in the technological field, capable of delivering integrated solutions to international clients».

AROBS Group, the largest technology company with full Romanian capital listed on the BVB, continues its expansion strategy through mergers and acquisitions, announcing the takeover of the majority stake of 65% of the GESS Engineering company from Sibiu. This move marks the third important transaction since 2025 and is part of founder Voicu Oprean's vision to coagulate regional players to create a technology group capable of competing globally. «Our vision is clear: we want to be a reference player in the technological field, able to deliver integrated solutions to international customers», Voicu Oprean, founder and CEO of AROBS Group, told ZF. The turbulence in the IT industry, but also in the automotive industry, represents a good time for expansion – not for waiting, he added. «AROBS sees periods of uncertainty as good times to invest. Strategic opportunities arise in such contexts, when valuations are more attractive and valuable companies can be integrated before the market recovers. In addition, the solid financial position gives us the necessary flexibility to continue our growth plans.» The new acquisition, GESS Engineering, is a strategic move to strengthen the engineering business line of AROBS, an essential vertical for the group. The company from Sibiu, founded in 2018, has over 100 specialists and generated revenues of around 22 million lei in 2024, being specialized in testing driver assistance systems (ADAS) and other advanced vehicle functions for the major international players in the industry.
