BRD Groupe Société Générale launches, for the first time on the Romanian market, a loan correlated with sustainability objectives dedicated to SMEs with business of at least 10 million euros. The beneficiaries are companies with a higher turnover of EUR 10 million, for loans worth at least 1 million EUR, which have implemented or intend to implement in their own businesses a number of sustainability objectives and / or ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance). «Through this innovative product, BRD takes an important step in democratizing sustainable financing, giving SMEs access to tools that have so far been reserved for large companies. It is an initiative that reflects our ambition to be a landmark in the sustainable financing in Romania and to support the sustainable transformation of the local economy,» said Jean-Philippe Guillaume coordinator of corporate banking activities. The credit is available both for the financing of the current activity, for a period of 2 or 3 years, as well as for investments (equipment purchases), in the medium or long term, and its structure is personalized according to the needs of each client, still keeping a generic approach and not a sectoral one. The ESG performance is monitored periodically, and the loan margin can be adjusted annually (decrease/growth), depending on the sustainability performance.
