Data analytics company Databricks is in talks to raise new funding at a valuation of more than $130 billion, about 30 percent higher than its last funding round two months ago, The Information reported Monday, citing two people familiar with the negotiations. The company refused to comment on the information. According to the report, Databricks has not yet signed a term sheet with any investment firm. In September, the San Francisco-based company closed a $1 billion funding round that valued it at $100 billion, making it one of the world's most valuable private companies. At the time, Databricks said it was on track to reach $4 billion in annualized revenue, driven by explosive demand for its artificial intelligence products. The company intended to use the capital to accelerate its AI strategy, expand its product line, launch a new category of operational databases and pursue acquisitions and AI research. Databricks is a San Francisco company specialized in managing large volumes of data and artificial intelligence, which has two Romanian professors among its founders, Ion Stoica (59 years old) and Matei Zaharia (39 years old). The company has long been considered a prime candidate for an eventual public listing and has received numerous requests from investors.
