What the Labor Code provides for employees, regarding vacations:
Art. 144. Intangibility of the right to rest
(1) The right to paid annual leave is guaranteed to all employees.
(2) The right to annual leave cannot be subject to any assignment, waiver or limitation.Art. 146. Making and compensating for rest leave
(1) The vacation is carried out every year.
(2) If the employee, for justified reasons, cannot take, in whole or in part, the annual leave to which he was entitled in the respective calendar year, with the consent of the person in question, the employer is obliged to grant the unused leave in a period of 18 months starting from the year following the year in which the right to the annual leave was born.
(3) Cash compensation for unused vacation leave is allowed only in case of termination of the individual employment contract. According to the provisions of the Labor Code, vacation days not taken in 2024 can be taken until June 30, 2026.
