Five Romanian students participated on August 21-24 at the International Finals of the Economy Olympiad, organized on the Olympa-Academy International Campus in Olympia, Greece and attended by 128 young people from nearly 30 countries. «The experience in Olympia is one that will remain with them all their lives – a combination between competition, friendship and inspiration for their future career,» the organizers said. At the national level, the Economy Olympiad was organized by the European Institute for Economic Studies (IES-European). The University of Bucharest supported the competition by hosting the national phase, for qualifying at the international stage. In 2025, according to the Ministry of Education, Romanian students will represent Romania at 42 international Olympics: regional, European and world, in topics such as: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science. In 2024, a total number of 178 students from 72 schools brought 220 medals to Romania. The participation of the 5 Romanian students in the international final of the Economy Olympiad was made with the support of Romsir and Bucharest Center for Economy & Society.
