Hidroelectrica, a company where the state owns 80% of the shares, and the remaining 20% ​​are traded on the stock market, has the lowest energy supply price for consumers, 1 Leo/KWh, given that the prices in the free market, announced by the other suppliers, start from 1.5 lei/kWh. The company has a declining production and has to buy energy from the market to honor its contracts. Hidroelectrica has become an energy supplier for individuals, and the price offered by 1 leu/kWh has attracted a large number of customers. Under these conditions, the energy requirement to be delivered to customers has exceeded the company's own production, the difference being bought from the market. Thus, Hidroelectrica sells individuals at 1 leu/kWh, and some energy buys it from the market at a much higher price, registering losses. The electricity product of Hidroelectrica decreased in the first semester by 27%, while the purchased energy increased by 62%. Hidroelectrica, H20 stock market symbol, has a stock capitalization of 54.56 billion, being controlled in 80.06% by the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy. The shares of the company decreased by 0.57% from the beginning of the year, according to BVB data.
