In the first half of 2025, the economic situation of the Czech Republic improved. The gross domestic product grew by 0 2.6% year-on-year in the 2nd quarter, and inflation in June was 2.8%, which is a value within the NB tolerance zone. The growth of the Czech economy is expected to slow down in the future, among other things, due to the collapse of German industry and the high price of emission allowances, which reduce competitiveness in the world economy.
In the first half of 2025, the state ran a deficit of CZK 152.4 billion. Revenues amounted to CZK 1,010.8 billion, while expenditures reached CZK 1,163.1 billion. In the budget, income from emission allowances was overestimated in particular. Considering the prices of emission allowances in 2025, it can be expected that the income from emission allowances will remain well below the plan. At the same time, expenditures for the support of renewable resources were significantly underestimated, which already exceeded the approved budget in the middle of the year.
