«The objective is that at the level of 2030 we have 1 GW capacity in Romania, solar, wind and storage. Our desire is to deliver green energy in the band and we are getting closer to this objective through storage,» said Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy, in a discussion with journalists at the company headquarters in Hobro. In Denmark, Eurowind has 10% of the capacity installed in onshore winds, and the completed projects in Romania have an installed capacity of 124 MW, with investments amounting to about 150 million euros. The largest project in construction, of 175 million euros, is the Vişina Solar Park, Dâmboviţa, of 220 MW. Eurowind Energy A/S has in the portfolio projects from the wind, solar, hydrogen, biogas, heat-to-heat (power-heat) conversion solutions. Founded in 2006, the company became an important player in the green energy sector, with over 690 employees and operations in 16 markets. Currently, the Danes have a total capacity of 1.3 GW and in operation 2.2 GW. Locally, the company has 328 MW capacity and a pipeline of over 7 GW, on all technologies. Eurowind Energy has been present on the Romanian market since 2011, shortly before the legislative changes end the first wave of development of renewables. «At the group level, I went on with the development even without subsidies because I saw that there were the declining costs for green technologies. The leading position comes when you go further with the development even if the market does not look good.
