Cluj, says that currently the group has two production units of semi-prepared products, and considering the growing trend of this segment, the entrepreneur will invest in a new production unit that will be focused only on this type of products. «We have submitted a project according to DR 22, our project is eligible, only that the funds have run out and now we understand that the funds are being supplemented, and if the political situation stabilizes and we sincerely hope that it will, I think that somewhere next year we will sign a financing contract and start the investment. Starting from 2025-2026, the investment starts, we hope that the war will end and we will enter into a normality», said the entrepreneur. The investment amounts to approximately 16.8 million euros and will take place in the town of Sânnicoara in Cluj County. Currently, Moldovan Carmangerie has two cattle farms, a small milk processing unit, a slaughterhouse section, two meat processing units, a logistics warehouse, a chain of stores, an online store, but it also operates on the restaurant side. Moldovan Carmangerie is a family business established in 1994, in Sânnicoara (Cluj county), from the passion for butchery of Ştefan and Cosmin Moldovan, father and son. Over time, it became one of the most important companies on the meat and meat preparations market in Cluj County. Cosmin Moldovan says that consumption habits are changing, and categories such as cooked-dried sausages are no longer so attractive, especially for young people. «It seems that young people, young mothers, no longer prefer to go to the store to buy bread, to go to the bakery to buy bread, but if there was a ready-made sandwich to put in their bag, it would be very good.» The company Moldovan Carmangerie reported for 2023 a turnover of 107.3 million. lei (21.7 million euros), up by 2.3% compared to the previous year, when the manufacturer from Cluj had business of 104.9 million. lei (21.2 million euros), according to ZF calculations based on data from the website of the Ministry of Finance. Moldovan Carmangerie returned to profit last year, with a net profit of almost 62,000 lei (12,500 euros), from a net loss of almost 1.6 million. lei (324,000 euros) incurred in 2022, according to public data.
