The investment fund Fil Rouge Capital (FRC) in Croatia, also present on the markets of Albania, Bulgaria and Slovenia, also enters the Romanian market with its own office, the announcement being made with the launch of its third fund (FRC3) in a total value of 60 million euros. The FRC partner from the local level is Matei Dumitrescu, an entrepreneur Tech, Business Angel and the founder of the Institute of Excellence in Entrepreneurship (Idea). “The extension of FIL ROUGE Capital in Romania represents an opportunity for local start-ups as well as for investors interested in co-investments. We intend to support both mature start-ups, but also to offer capital for the acceleration phase, thus covering a long-term financing emptiness-the start-ups at the beginning of the road had a reduced access to the capital. Develop with real support, acceleration and support ”, said Matei Dumitrescu, Venture Partner Fil Rouge Capital in Romania. Fil Rouge Capital 3 is currently completely operational, the Croatian Fund is actively investing, given that it has already gathered over 45 million euros in the first round. The FRC invests in technology layers in Southeast Europe, offering them both capital and resources and support to scale globally. Thus, under the local coordination of Matei Dumitrescu, the start-ups in Romania will have direct access to both the acceleration program (which offers financing up to 300,000 euros), as well as on the Venture Capital investment component (with initial funding of up to 1 million euros and the possibility of Follow-on investments up to 4 million euros). The fund is looking for software start-ups, especially those that use artificial intelligence to transform B2B markets, supply chains and SME operations. The extension of Fil Rouge Capital in Romania also opens opportunities for local investors interested in co-investments with the Croatian fund. Before deciding to enter the local market directly, Julien Couustaury and Roger Blott, FRC's founding partners, actively participated in events hosted by Idea. «The fact that Matei has been joined is an important step. He shares our values, has a deep understanding of the region and is perfectly aligned with our confidence in the brave founders. Romania is ready, and we are ready!» said Julien Couustury, a founding partner of the FRC.
