Ondo Finance has announced the launch of ONDO Global Markets, a platform that allows non-American eligible investors to buy and sell tokenized versions of American actions and ETFs. The company said that trading is available 24/7 on-chain, with issuing and redemption windows aligned at traditional markets. Over 100 actions and ETFs are available at launch, with a plan to reach over 1,000 by the end of the year, subject to restrictions. Ondo called it «the largest launch of tokenized actions in history.»
Where it works and who can use them
Tokenized actions are available today on Ethereum. The support for BNB Chain, Solana, Ondo Chain and other networks is «soon», according to the team. The platform is not available for retail or institutional users in the United States or the United Kingdom. Eligible investors in APAC, Europe, Africa and Latin America can access the service, subject to local rules.
How it works
When a user acquires, for example, AAPLON (a tokenized representation of Apple shares), ONDO says that its platform buys the basic AAPP through a US broker and keeps it with a regulated custodian. The on-chain token is presented as a total efficiency tracker, with the dividends reflected in the price of the token and reinvested after the tax withheld at the source. Tokens can be issued or redeemed for Stablecoins at the current value during trading hours and transferred peer-to-peer on-chain 24/7. ONDO states that tokenized actions are completely supported by American titles and cash in transit, with daily reserve verification by third parties. The structure includes a security agent with a first priority security interest on the basic assets for the benefit of token holders and is designed to be bankrupt resistant, the company said. In order to reduce the skid, Ondo aims to inherit the liquidity from the basic actions and ETFs on the traditional markets. Easy issuing and redemption are meant to maintain the prices of the tokens aligned with the Spot market by arbitration.
Integrations and tools
At launch, the support extends to wallets, exchanges and major infrastructure suppliers, including OKX Wallet, Trust Wallet, Bitget Wallet, Gate, Bitgo, Ledger, Chainink, Layerzero, Morpho, 1inch and others. 1Inch said he has updated his intentions-based swap api to allow conscious access to these assets. ONDO also highlighted APIs for developers for Exchange, Robo-Advisers and protocols of derivative financial instruments. Tokenized securities gains land throughout the industry. Kraken and Backed have expanded Xstocks on several chains, RobinHood offers on-chain actions to EU users on the arbitrum, and coinbase explore offers in the US, subject to regulatory approval. A recent industry analysis, mentioned in the statement, suggests that tokenized assets (excluding stablecoins) could reach a market value of 2 trillion by 2030. Join the 33,000+ subscribers.
