More than ten transactions were carried out by strategic investors from Poland on the Romanian market. A few other paraphrases of private equity funds based in this country. Major bets on Romanian energy. Direct inputs of companies and top banks in the strongest economy in Central and Eastern Europe. This is how the Polish offensive could be summarized on the Romanian market only in the last two years, all these moves confirming that the local economy still has growth potential and E on the investors' radars. However, it is important to note that behind these initiatives are both Polish entrepreneurs and giant funds in the US and the United Kingdom, which indirectly bet on Romania. Only in the last week, two strategic investors in Poland, the strongest economy in the Central and Eastern Europe region, have announced their intentions to take over locally, business that is at the peak of the markets on which they operate.

Entrepreneur Alin Burcea announced that he has decided to give up the control of parallel 45, selling 70% of shares to one of the largest travel agencies in Poland, Rainbow Tours Poland. Behind the new shareholder of Paralela 45 are, among other things, the Dutch from NN (through National-Anderlanden PTE SA), but also the Italian insurer Generali and the Austrian Vienna Insurance Group. More recently, Maspex, a Polish group in the top 100 companies in the region, announced on the Bucharest Stock Exchange that it wants to make the fifth transaction in Romania: the majority package of Purcari, an agreement of over 420 million lei. As a result of this move, the shares of the first company in the Republic of Moldova from BVB were traded on Thursday afternoon by 11%, to 19.6 lei, after in the previous meeting – when the offer announcement was published – they climbed by 25% and were left without sellers. Such offers are few, because it involves high investments and taking a high risk. The offer shows that the investor sees significant value in the company, and the market reacts by increasing the price of shares. In addition, it reflects a more complex dynamic on the capital market, where foreign players can try to take over local companies. These moves, some being transactions with values of tens of millions of euros, come to confirm that the actors in this state have great ambitions in Romania. After gaining strength positions in sectors such as fashion retail, the building materials industry or FMCG, the Poles are now coming to conquer other fields. But it is interesting to see who is behind these actors. In some cases it is about family business, as in Maspex, while in others it is about investment funds or pension funds in the West. For example, the Luxvet Group in Poland, which has begun to hunt Romanian businesses in the field of veterinary clinics and hospitals, has three investment funds, including American Oaktree Capital Management. Zabka, active on the retail market in Poland and, more recently, on the one in Romania, has a CVC shareholder, one of the largest private equity funds in the world, based in the UK beyond these transactions, there are also investors coming directly, as is the case with PKO Bank Polski, the largest bank in this country. In fact, the bank officials have previously announced in a ZF interview that they come especially to support the companies in the parent. «Our first mission is to support the Polish companies that are present here.» And there are almost 1,800 companies with Polish capital, about 300 being founded in the last two years. The interest of investors in this country is diverse, from Retail to FMCG and from IT to Energy, a strategic sector. For example, the Poles from R. Power became last year the stars of the first liqueurs of contracts for difference (CFD) organized by the Romanian state, with 5 solar projects from the 11 selected to be a price guaranteed for energy for 15 years. Energy groups in Poland, along with infrastructure investment vehicles, as is the case with the Investment Fund of the three seas (Fi3M), have become extremely visible in the local energy landscape.
