Premier Energy supply, one of the larger energy suppliers in Romania, says that at this moment there are significant amounts that must be settled to the company, based on the ceiling scheme. «These delays have a direct impact on the cash flow of the company, but we are in permanent contact with the authorities to urgently solve and to ensure the continuity of our operations under optimal conditions,» the company representatives commented. The reaction comes in the context in which the Association of Swingers and Energy Communities (APCE) has transmitted in a statement that «Premier Energy, one of the main electricity suppliers in Romania, has stopped payments to prosumers with 200-400 kW installations, which benefit from monthly compensation. According to market information, this situation persists in November 2024, accumulating over two months. The supplier has not issued an official point of view so far, justifying on sources of cash-flow issues as if the business in the Czech Republic was based on the energy delivered by the prosumers and its use. » In reply, the company says the following. “Premier Energy supply makes every effort to comply with contractual obligations to prosumers, including those who benefit from monthly compensation. In certain situations, punctual delays generated by the current operational context and delays in the state settlements according to the ceiling scheme may occur. We emphasize that there is no decision to cease payments, but only temporary difficulties that are in the process of settlement. ” Further, Premier Energy says that the entire energy sector was strongly affected by the implementation of the ceiling scheme and the delay of its settlements. «Premier Energy supply manages these challenges with concrete measures to optimize cash flow, including by prioritizing payments and active dialogue with authorities responsible for accelerating settlements.» Premier Energy has a portfolio of 1.2 million electricity and natural gas customers. In December 2023, the company took over the CEZ Sale portfolio, the main electricity supplier in the south west of Romania, which is now known as Premier Energy supply.
