The average net salary reached 5,691 net lei in March this year, up 9.8% compared to the same month of 2024, data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS) shows. The inflation rate was 4.9%, so we have a real salary profit of 4.9%. Moreover, the average net salary is in the third consecutive month this year with increases less than 10%. «The economic signals have been visible since the end of 2024, and due to the economic context and the reduced predictability at the business level I do not think we will reach increases of over 10% of salaries this year, perhaps only in exceptional and punctual situations,» says Sorina Donisa, CEO of the Prohuman Romania recruitment company. The data from the INS about the evolution of the average net salary, the inflation and the real wage of the period of March 2024 – March 2025 shows a gradual slowing of the salary increases and a stabilization of inflation.
