From the peak in 2022, when Chimcomplex had a capitalization of 8 billion lei, the company is now worth 2 billion lei after a difficult 2025, marked by losses, which CEO Ştefan Vuza says are caused by the government's passivity in the face of the closure of the national chemical industry

♦ The company's shares lost 5% and 7%, respectively, in the two meetings after the publication of the annual financial results.

Just a few years ago, Chimcomplex made history at the Bucharest Stock Exchange, being the absolute champion of returns after a 1,200% increase in 2021. In January 2022, the moment of the transfer to the main market, the group reached a record capitalization of almost 8 billion lei, fueled by solid profits and the optimism of investors who saw a regional industrial hub in the company's platforms in Borzeşti and Râmnicu Vâlcea. The explosive expansion since then was fueled by a rare market conjuncture: international polyol quotations had reached record levels, propelling revenues and net profit to unprecedented figures. In a context of massive global demand for insulating materials, polyurethane foams and automotive components, Chimcomplex was able to capitalize on the integration of Oltchim's assets, turning the acquired industrial assets into a cash-flow machine that convinced investors that the group could be a new regional giant. Today, the picture is radically different: the market value has fallen to 2 billion lei, and the enthusiasm of that time has been replaced by a conservation plan dictated by net losses in 2025. Ştefan Vuza, the master of the rise of the past years, now directly accuses the Government's passivity, claiming that the Romanian state immovably assists the deindustrialization of the country.
