container, source: KODA JS The engineers from Pilsen developed the innovation of the original nuclear packaging set themselves and recently tested it in the operation of the power plant. Together with them, KODA JS as, a member of the EZ Group and a leading European manufacturer of nuclear energy, successfully passed the test of its first container of the new generation (KODA 1000/19M (OS)) for the use of nuclear fuel for the Temeln Power Plant (ETE). Qualitatively, these are equivalent packaging files to the previous type delivered by KODA JS (JS) to Temelno. At ETE, this new generation of containers, their production is more efficient, was finally deployed during the soon-to-be-completed stages of the second block. The team of experts from KODA JS managed to develop and adopt a new method of internal stainless steel welding of the container in a relatively short time. With this, they replaced the previous surface law. We chose practically the same technological procedure as the one used in the construction of a nuclear reactor. Nvar technically increases long-term safety and life even with future fuel generations. The production is, of course, maintaining the maximum quality, a little faster, and the colleagues in operation handle the new packaging files a little better, stated the chairman of the board and general editor of KODA JS a.s. Karel Bedn about the innovation.

Similarly, the innovation fits perfectly into the concept of increasing the efficiency of the operation of nuclear power plants. With the new generation, the cover will be dark not only for Temeln, but also for the Dukovany power plant. Of course, it is a condition that it must meet all safety parameters, confirmed Bohdan Zronek, member of the board of EZ and editor of the nuclear energy division. The technology of tests in the production of reactor vessels Led by the power plant itself, the internal surface of the vessel was modernized as a step towards ensuring the long-term reliability of the entire spent fuel storage system. For us, it is important that the new type of container has proven itself in real operation and that its deployment was completely standard. The use of technology, which is proven by the production of the reactor vessels themselves, ensures high quality and durability of the inner surface even during long-term fuel storage, to Petr M욝an, editor of Jadern elektrrny Temeln. Pikov Czech technology with the international stamp KODA JS has been designing and manufacturing containers for the transport and storage of spent nuclear fuel since 1993. In 33 years, it has produced a total of approx. 500 pieces of all types of containers designed for nuclear energy. Of this, approximately 420 will be used as nuclear fuel, including for nuclear power plants. She exported several tens of pieces. All containers produced in JS are registered in the database of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna (IAEA). For ETE and EDU needs, Ron produces and delivers an average of 5 units for each power plant. The high level of safety and quality of the modernized packaging is also confirmed by the ASME Section III certification for nuclear energy, which it received in April of this year. This internationally recognized and Czech nuclear engineering is among the absolute world peak.
