The parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, scheduled on Sunday, will be monitored by 3,423 accredited observers, both from Moldova and internationally, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announces on Saturday. 2,496 are national observers, representing eight public organizations, most of them accredited by the Promo-LEX Association and the Jurist Union of Moldova, according to a CEC statement. CEC also accredited 912 international observers. They include 149 members of the diplomatic missions, 28 representatives of the foreign electoral authorities, 269 members of the international associations and 272 OSCE observers/rest. Other participating organizations are the European network of elections monitoring organizations (8), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Ocen (3), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (28), the European Parliament (14), the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE (118), the Parliament of Ukraine (15) and the International Organization of Francophonie (8). The CEC states that several national observers were also accredited by the constituency electoral councils.
