SpaceX aims to confidentially file paperwork for an initial public offering (IPO) as early as next month, according to people familiar with the situation, as billionaire Elon Musk's rocket and satellite company moves forward with plans for the biggest listing in history, Bloomberg writes. The Starbase, Texas-based company expects to file a draft IPO with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in March, the sources said. Such a move would keep the company on track for a June listing, which would make it the first of a possible trio of mega-IPOs, with OpenAI and Anthropic PBC possibly following. The reviews are ongoing, the details could change, and SpaceX could still delay the filing, the sources said. SpaceX could seek a valuation of more than $1.75 trillion in the IPO, said some of the people cited, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. The company acquired Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI in a February deal that valued the sprawling entity at $1.25 trillion, Bloomberg News reported. In a confidential filing, companies can receive feedback from the regulator and make changes before the information becomes public. A SpaceX representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A SpaceX listing could raise as much as $50 billion, people familiar with the preparations said. At that size, it would surpass the current record holder, Saudi Aramco's $29 billion IPO in 2019. In a memo, SpaceX said it was preparing for a possible IPO in 2026 that would finance a «crazy flight rate» for its Starship development rocket, data centers for artificial intelligence in space and a base on the moon. SpaceX selected Bank of America Corp., Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley for lead roles in the IPO, people familiar with the situation said. The company is considering a dual-class share structure in the IPO, which could give insiders like Musk additional voting power to dominate decision-making, Bloomberg News reported.
