The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, called the parliamentary parties to consultations for the nomination of the candidate for the position of prime minister. They will take place on Sunday, at the Cotroceni Palace. PSD, PNL, UDMR and the Group of National Minorities will come together for discussions. According to the Presidential Administration, «under the provisions of art. 85 para. (1) and of art. 103 para. (1) of the Romanian Constitution, the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, invited, to the Cotroceni Palace, the presidents of the political parties and formations represented in the Romanian Parliament, for consultations with a view to appointing the candidate for the position of Prime Minister». The consultations will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2024, according to the following schedule: 12:00: – Social Democratic Party (PSD); – National Liberal Party (PNL); – The Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR); – Parliamentary Group of National Minorities. 12:30 p.m. – Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR); 13:00 – Save Romania Union (USR); 1:30 p.m. – SOS Romania Party; 14:00 – Young People's Party (POT).
