Approximately 44,427 properties were sold nationally in February 2026, with 19,829 more than in January, but with 7,551 less compared to the same period last year, according to a statement from the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising (ANCPI). The most real estate transactions were registered in Bucharest, where 8,290 properties were sold, followed by Ilfov counties, with 3,520 transactions, and Cluj, with 2,101, according to the data cited in the ANCPI press release. At the opposite pole, the fewest properties sold were recorded in Teleorman – 77, Călăraşi – 249 and Sălaj – 281. As for the county residences, most transactions took place in Braşov, with 976 properties sold, Cluj-Napoca – 742 and Iaşi – 689. The fewest transactions were recorded in Alexandria – 9, Giurgiu – 41 and Călăraşi – 44, according to the press release. The number of mortgages registered nationally in February was 24,838, 4,676 less than in February 2025. The most operations of this type were recorded in Bucharest – 3,814, Ilfov – 2,045 and Timiş – 2,007. The fewest mortgages were registered in the counties of Harghita – 74, Sălaj – 83 and Covasna – 106. At the same time, according to ANCPI, the most agricultural land sold in February 2026 were in the counties of Dolj – 569, Buzău – 530 and Arad – 489.
