As the Christmas holidays have come significantly closer, the weather for this period is already quite clear. The models in the previous days also promised an increased chance of snow. But it decreases again over time. There will be little precipitation in the end. They will stick to the mountains (mostly Šumava) and will be quite weak. Don't expect a white Christmas in 70% of our territory. In addition to the mountains, there is also a chance of snow in the south and southwest. It will often drizzle, somewhere the drizzle will turn into light snow, but it won't color the landscape too white. Most often, only 1 cm of snow is expected to fall. But the flow will bring a drastic change – dry and frosty air will temporarily flow from the northeast. Temperatures will head briskly below zero through Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday should be warmer again before another cold front. It will hit from Saturday to Sunday and will come along with very strong northwesterly winds. The wind in general will strengthen significantly in the next period. Up until now we have been dealing with, you could say, record low winds for many days. But the wind is very typical for the Central European winter and has already started to speak. Thanks to cold intrusions and flow changes, the inversion will finally break, and we will see the sky, normal clouds, and even the sun. On Tuesday it will be cloudy to cloudy, occasionally foggy. Occasional drizzle or rain. Above 600 m above sea level and in the evening above 400 m above sea level in the northeast, snowfall. Temperatures 1 to 6 °C. On Wednesday, it will be cloudy to cloudy, in the southwest and on the mountains in places, in other places, it will occasionally snow. Temperatures -2 to 2 °C. On Thursday it will be clear to partly clear, cloudy to overcast in the south. Temperatures -4 to 1 °C. From Friday it will be clear to partly cloudy, occasionally, especially in the east, cloudy, drizzle or even snow. In general, low cloud cover will start to increase again. Temperatures -3 to 2 °C, temporarily up to 5 °C.
