Rolandas Juteika, Revolut, at ZF Live: I am very surprised and impressed by the increase in the amount invested by Romanians in listed shares. I see an increase in the last ten years of 20% annually.
♦ Money «sleeps» a lot and Romania has enormous potential in terms of the power to invest.
Romanian investments in listed shares have increased spectacularly in the last ten years, from 1.3 billion euros in 2014 to almost 7 billion euros last year, according to Eurostat data cited by Rolandas Juteika, head of wealth & trading for Southeast Europe at Revolut. Invited to the ZF Live business show, he said that the average growth rate was approximately 20% per year. «I am very surprised and impressed by the increase in the amount invested by Romanians in listed shares. I see an increase in the last ten years of 20% annually. Currently, Romanians have invested not necessarily in the local market, but in general in listed shares, almost 7 billion euros – a significant increase compared to 1.3 billion euros 10 years ago, which is impressive», said Rolandas Juteika on the November 11 show, moderated by Sorin Pâslaru, editor-in-chief of ZF. On the other hand, Romanians continue to keep huge sums in cash and bank deposits, remunerated below inflation. «There are a total of 92 billion euros in cash and deposits in Romania, which is an amazing amount and which grows by 10% annually. Money sleeps a lot,» said the Revolut representative
