Employers whose employees work on legal holidays, are obliged to give them compensation. According to the legislation in force, employees have the right to free time compensation in the next 30 days. In case this compensation cannot be granted, employees have the right to a salary increase of at least 100% of the basic salary. Employers who do not give employees free time in non-working days or who do not reward them for work in those days risk fines between 5,000 and 10,000 lei.
