With increasing intensity, however, sunshine can become an unwelcome guest from which you want to hide on hot days. Ideal is a bioclimatic pergola, where you can adjust the shielding according to current needs by setting the slats. In addition, it will hide you from the whims of the weather. How to choose pergola? Pergola became an indispensable element of modern gardens and terraces. Whether you are looking for refuge from the sun, an elegant space for outdoor seating or an architectural element that gives your garden a pitch, pergola is the right choice. Naturally connects the interior with the exterior and can be used as an outdoor living room, dining room or relaxation zone with a hammock. What types of pergolas can be purchased and what should you consider before selecting? Do you want a pergola at the house or standing? The pergola can be attached to the facade of the house and thus expand the living space. This type is ideal for shading a terrace or creating an outdoor seating area connected to the house. But you can also consider a freestanding pergola in the garden area that creates a separate relaxing section. It can be an alternative to the gazebo, where you can sit with a book or magazine, but it can also be connected, for example, with outdoor kitchen or swimming pool or habitat lake. Especially in larger gardens, such a pergola attracts to discover more distant corners to take advantage of the whole potential of the garden. What material is suitable and how to take care of the pergola? In the selection of pergolas, material plays an important role. It affects not only appearance but also lifetime. Wooden pergolas bring a rustic atmosphere to the garden, while aluminum structures look modern and minimalist, and in addition, they excel in the garden with their unobtrusiveness. However, wood requires regular care in the form of protective coating and winter cover to withstand the weather. On the contrary, aluminum pergolas are almost maintenance -free and resistant to corrosion and weather. «To keep the pergolas in good condition twice a year, ie in spring and before winter, visually check. Clean from dirt, dust or smog with a softened damp cloth. March Remove the coarse dirt as a branch of the pergolas roof and check and clean the drainage of the drainage, especially from the leaves, to prevent them from clogging, ”says Jakub Vaněk from Opava's company isotra, which has been dealing with the shading technology for more than 30 years. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as organic thinners, solvents, cleaning pastes and sands and strong alkaline cleaning agents to clean the pergola structure. They could damage the aluminum surface. Thanks to the tilting slats, you can easily control light, heat and air flow pergola can be open or have different types of roofing. An open pergola with a grate often serves as a support for climbing plants, such as roses, wisteria or vines, and offers air sitting on hot days. The disadvantage is that it does not protect from the rain, so it cannot be used when it rains. You also have to count on the fact that even the furniture on the terrace in the case of the downpour gets wet. Pergolas may also have a solid roofing with polycarbonate or glass roof, which in turn protects against bad weather, but on hot days there may be a greenhouse effect. Bioclimatic pergolas are therefore increasingly popular, where it is possible to tilt the slats as needed. «We have seen a significant increase in the bioclimatic pergolas in recent years. It is related to the so -called outdoor housing, when people want to spend time in the garden and extend their stay. Bioclimatic pergola is ideal because the roof slats can be tilted according to the sun. This is very pleasant, ”says Erich Stavař, co -founder of ISOTRA. There is even the possibility of distributing the roof into multiple independent sections that can be controlled separately. You can comfortably regulate the flow of light, heat and air in any part of the pergola. At full closure of the roof slats, it protects against rain, while water is always drained by at least once by a handstand. Side shielding protects from wind and undesirable views in addition to roofing, you can also choose side shielding from the pergola. Sliding glass panels are made of pergolas all year round, very popular are also screen blinds, which also provide privacy, as they are opaque from the outside, while the inside thanks to a specially perforated fabric you can see out. «These blinds will also find their use in the late afternoon, when the sun is low and shines the side of the pergola. Just download the blinds to your selected height and you can comfortably use the space until late,» advises Erich Stavař. At the same time, these blinds protect against the wind and thanks to the zipper also against insects. You can also add lighting for the evening well -being of pergola to create a pleasant atmosphere even after dark. All -round LED tape, LED spotlights integrated into slats, but also lantern or garden luminaires will turn pergola into a romantic place for evening sitting with friends or family.
