President Nicusor Dan offered a series of answers on Saturday to the question of whether tourists will be safe in the summer on the Black Sea coast, after a drone exploded in the Port of Constanta. The head of state believes that Romanians «legitimately» ask themselves a question about how safe they will be if they come to the Black Sea on the Romanian coast this summer. Nicusor Dan says that additional equipment is expected from NATO. On the other hand, both the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior, the Border Police, will supplement during this summer the crews that carry out research missions, to recognize possible dangers», declared Nicuşor Dan. He also adds that, following the recent diplomatic contacts, there is a constant dialogue with Ukraine and a form of protocol was already foreseen to include this type of events. «And, as the last argument, we have a war that, unfortunately, started for more than four years. I also had a secondary effect of this war, and maritime drones that entered the territorial waters and even arrived on the Romanian shore and were not victims because, with the equipment they have, the state institutions acted accordingly», said Nicuşor Dan. A maritime drone self-detonated on Friday near the oil terminals, and the authorities activated the Red Intervention Plan and issued a RO-Alert message for the population.
