Goldman Sachs paid CEO David Solomon the sum of $47 million last year, 21% more than in 2024 and the highest level of remuneration since he took over the leadership of the Wall Street bank in 2018, writes the FT. According to a document filed Friday, Goldman said Solomon received a $2 million base salary, a $10.1 million cash bonus, $31.5 million in stock and $3.4 million in carried interest from the bank's managed funds. The carried interest component was added to Solomon's remuneration package a year ago. The pay increase reflects a roughly 20% advance in Goldman's profit in 2025, but is larger than the 13% increase in the bank's total expenses with salaries and benefits for all employees last year. Goldman said the compensation committee considered, among other factors, «the company's financial performance, both in absolute terms and relative to competitors' results, as well as in the context of the 2025 operating environment and long-term results.»
