The Ministry of Transport, majority shareholder with 80% of the Bucharest National Airports Company (CNAB), valued at around 5 billion lei, rejected the request of Fondul Proprietatea regarding the resumption of the selection of a financial auditor and the contracting of services for a possible listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange through an initial public offering (IPO), according to ZF information. The spokesman for the Ministry of Transport did not respond to ZF's call. ZF requested a point of view from Fondul Proprietatea and will publish it as soon as it is received. The rejected request provided for the organization of the selection process for the financial auditor, including for the contracting of other services necessary for limited insurance, for the financial years 2025-2027 and for the preparation of a possible listing on the stock exchange. In the official documents, the provider's tasks were to be divided into three lots: financial audit for statutory and IFRS financial statements at individual and consolidated level (2025–2027), limited assurance services for sustainability reports from the same period and services for listing the company on the BSE through an initial public offering. The convocation of the General Meeting of Shareholders on November 27, 2025, initiated by Fondul Proprietatea, was to discuss these issues, but the Ministry of Transport decided not to approve the resumption of the process. Fondul Proprietatea values its 20% stake in Bucharest Airports at approximately 1 billion lei, while the company is valued at 5 billion lei. In 2024, CNAB reported business of 1.3 billion lei, net profit of 609 million lei and 1,400 employees. At nine months from 2025, Fondul Proprietatea indicates operating revenues of 1.2 billion lei, up 19%, and net profit of 609 million lei, 31% higher than the similar period in 2024. Holdings in Airports represent half of the Fund's assets.
