Adina Călin, product director of CEC Bank: Even if we do not have many reasons for optimism for 2026, I still believe that we have this direction opposite the PNRR, European funds. We have this priority and, in the end, it is important for each of us to focus on attracting these sources, which I don't think we will encounter again from 2027 in such a large volume. Therefore, I would see this as a positive element and a great chance for 2026. On the other hand, there are obviously other uncertainties regarding a fairly low growth of the economy, potential redundancies and what will obviously put pressure on the credit portfolios held by such consumers.
♦ «In the area of mortgage loans, we have not noticed any kind of change in recent years. The non-performance rate remains in minimal figures, that is, it is as good as possible. It is clear that the population pays their mortgage loan», said Adina Călin, director at CEC Bank.
The first pressures have started to appear on loans for personal needs, «things are heating up a bit», exactly in the segment of customers with the maximum degree of indebtedness, and, in addition, layoffs may affect the retail lending market in the future, warned Adina Călin, product director of CEC Bank, at the KRUK Summit of Now event, at which NV was a media partner. «I did an analysis of our portfolio and I think it was somewhere around 30-40%: the loans that went into default were right in that area of maximum amounts that were granted. If I were to think of something else, from my perspective, that can put a certain pressure, at least on the retail market, it would be related to these layoffs, there are counties or areas of the country where such layoffs happen. Indeed, the economic power is less and, yes, I think we have to be careful there. I have certain fears that they can downgrade, so to speak, the quality of our portfolios in terms of lending», explained Adina Călin. Continuing the discussion related to lending segments, the representative of CEC Bank said that, as far as the area of mortgage loans is concerned, there are no changes compared to the last years, and the population pays their installments.
