The American company Madison Air Solutions is entering the stock market after the first IPO of an industrial company in the USA in ten years. This manufacturer of ventilation and filter systems received 2.23 billion dollars from investors, which gave it a market value of 13 billion dollars. The demand for stocks was supported by the boom in data centers, the return of manufacturing to the USA and the growing demand for the modernization of the housing stock.Madison Air Solutions raised $2.23 billion in the first U.S. industrial IPO in more than a decade. The Chicago-based supplier of ventilation and filtration systems sold 82.7 million shares at $27 a piece after the underwriters set the price between $25 and $27. The offer was rebuffed several times, sources said. The total value of the two companies is $13.2 billion. According to Bloomberg data, this is the largest IPO since 1999, when United Parcel Service went public for $5.5 billion. It is the latest and the biggest debut in a series of companies in this industry, which is related to the data center boom. Shares of Legence are up 148% since its IPO, while power equipment maker Forgent Power Solutions is up 20% since its Norwegian debut. Madison Air's business in the US, which includes healthcare, data centers, manufacturing and logistics, is said to have lost two-thirds of its revenue. According to the company, the shrinking housing stock in North America, the rapid growth of data centers and the return of peak production back to the US is increasing the size of the market for specialized air handling systems, which is now estimated at about 40 billion dollars. The company had a projected profit of $124 million on revenue of $3.34 billion for 2025, compared with a projected profit of $236 million on revenue of $2.62 billion two years from now. Madison Air's top ten accounts accounted for 32% of total revenue last year. At the end of last year, the company had no more than 8,650 employees. After the IPO, founder Larry Gies should control the company through ownership of all voting shares, according to the document. The shares are expected to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange today under the symbol MAIR.
