Aluminum windows instead of PVC, doors with hardware that no longer make noise and SPC floors instead of classic parquet — the interior design market in Romania is changing rapidly in 2026, and those who set the tone say that the trends come from the area of energy efficiency and comfort, not just aesthetics. The data comes from Pinum Doors & Windows, part of the Nusco group, a manufacturer with over 30 years on the local market, which ended 2025 with a business of 24.9 million euros, an increase of about 20%. The most visible change comes in the window segment: aluminum joinery is rapidly gaining ground in the residential sector, being preferred for compliance with nZEB standards, lower maintenance costs and a premium look. Pinum has developed a department exclusively dedicated to this segment, which also offers the calculation of the energy efficiency coefficient for each individual window. «The results of 2025 are due to a coherent strategy and the company's ability to transform market pressures into development opportunities. We have strengthened our relationships with our partners and maintained a sustainable balance between quality and competitiveness,» said Francesco Curcio, Pinum CEO. For doors, hidden hinges and magnetic latches are becoming the new normal in premium residential projects — solutions that eliminate closing noise and raise the level of home comfort. As for colors, white remains in first place, followed by greige shades, and the demand for natural veneer is constantly increasing. The Filomuro collection remains the favorite of the luxury segment. On the floors, SPC continues to take the share of classic parquet in real estate projects, both with developers and individual customers, while natural layered parquet is coming back into the spotlight. Natural oak, in neutral finishes, remains the safe choice, because it integrates into any type of arrangement. Pinum is also preparing for 2026 investments of over 14 million euros in a new factory at Moara Vlăsiei, which doubles the production capacity. The factory covers 20,000 square meters, on a 6-hectare plot, and integrates solar panels, and the financing was done with Banca Transilvania. Also this year, the company opens its largest showroom — 1,200 sq m in Pipera, in the second phase of the Nusco City project. «These investments double our production capacity, allow us to operate at a higher level of efficiency and sustainability and strengthen our position as a leader on the Romanian market», added Francesco Curcio. The Pinum network includes 16 franchise showrooms and 3 own units, and the objective for 2026 is to open six new locations, including in Timişoara. Another strategic bet is the integration of artificial intelligence in production and design.
