UPDATE: At the opening of the party event, Sorin Grindeanu explained to the members that the time has come for the balance sheet. «Today we are together again at a decisive moment for Romania and for the PSD. It is time to draw a line and make a political assessment of the party's presence in the government in the current coalition, an assessment in front of the Romanians, an assessment of the fulfillment of the objectives that we set for ourselves as a party when we decided to enter the government».

On Monday, at 5 p.m., the meeting began in which the Social Democratic Party will decide by the vote of approximately 5,000 members whether to withdraw its political support to Ilie Bolojan, a decision that would lead to the withdrawal of the PSD from the Government or, finally, to the dismissal of the prime minister. The PSD leaders decided this morning the question that the delegates must answer: «Given the economic and social collapse of the last 10 months – with recession, inflation, businesses closing down, unemployment, the decrease in public investments and the standard of living, especially for young people, for pensioners and the vulnerable categories, plus the lack of real dialogue in the Coalition and with social partners:Do you think that PSD should withdraw its political support to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan?”.
