Emil Hurezeanu (69 years old) is one of the most famous journalists in Romania. Millions of people, during the dictatorship, listened to Europa Liberă to learn from him and from Neculai Constantin Munteanu what was happening in the country. Both worked at Free Europe in Munich, Germany. Hurezeanu was the first journalist to report on the revolution that started in Timisoara, 35 years ago. After he returned to the country he was rewarded. He was adviser to Adrian Năstase, then he was appointed by Klaus Iohannis ambassador to Austria. It was proposed to him to run for the presidency of Romania but, he says, he refused, because it was too big a hat. Now he is the new foreign minister of Romania.
