JPMorgan, the largest in the United States by assets, was the consultant to Premier Energy (stock symbol PE) in the approximately 700 million euro transaction for the takeover of Distribuţie Energie Oltenia (DEO), according to a press release. The company included in the local BET index is in advanced discussions to finance the acquisition through a possible bond issue, initially structured through a bridge-to-bond type package, i.e. a short-term financing that would later be replaced by longer-term bonds, with the objective of later covering all or a significant part of the transaction. Previously, Premier Energy announced that it had signed an agreement for the acquisition of DEO from funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, the value of the operation being at a level close to the book value of the business. The transaction aims at the full takeover of the distribution operator from the southwest of Romania, which manages a network of approximately 80,000 km and serves approximately 1.5 million customers, being the third largest electricity distributor in the country. With 52.5%, the energy supplier's shares registered the biggest increase in this year's BET structure, at a capitalization of 5.5 billion lei. The dynamics of the last 12 months consist of an advance of 136%. Premier Energy ended 2025 with consolidated revenues of 1.72 billion euros, 41% above the level of the previous exercise. The net profit increased more than four times, up to 103 million euros.
