TV rights in Great Britain for football teams reach 70 million pounds, while in Romania the best teams receive up to 3 million euros. Thus, the performance differences between Romanian and British football can also be explained in the level of funding. «In England, the TV rights for each team, in the year 2024, are around 70 million pounds, versus Romania, where the best team receives 2-3 million euros. The differences are big,» said Viorel Ruse, Marketing Director of Salt Bank. According to him, Romanian football has progressed a lot in the last 10 years, with football clubs looking to expand their selection base through junior academies. «Football has grown a lot in the last 10 years in Romania. There have started to be academies for children and juniors, which bring young people to big teams. Having this base, it is much easier for a club to do business in football.» NV launched the show Business and marketing in football, produced in partnership with Salt Bank, a show where people from the industry will give their opinion on the evolution of Romanian football and answer the question: Is football a business or not? «We believe that it is a business and in fact we see that it is becoming a professional business more and more. We see professional investments, we see increasingly scientific business behavior. If you want, in the sphere of football we see business people who invest in football and we believe that this makes this sport not just a passion, but a business», explained the vice president of Salt Bank, Robert Anghel. The guest of the last edition was Răzvan Burleanu, the president of the Romanian Football Federation.
